Hi people of the world!

Do you know what days you get done the least? Those with a lot of free time! Wow, I had so much time on my hands today, which could have been used to work out, plan a longer, more intelligent blog post, or have a little photoshoot with all the stuff I received from Japan the other day, but no...
More about the Japan stuff will come later though. I ordered two pairs of shoes from Rainbowholic, a lifestyle blogger which I happen to be a great admirer of ^.^

Oh, it's my turn at the bathroom already... Think of something good to blog about, Silje, think now...
Well, let me just say that you have something to look forward too! The spring has finally arrived here (slowly), so now we'll be able to take more pictures outside :D
I'm having a lot of ideas like video blogging, an-almost-professional photoshoot and long posts, all we need to do is get to work! ^^

Today I felt a sudden urge for Japan (that tends to happen at least once a week), so I've been searching the internet jungle for kawaii this and kawaii that. (Hm, so that's where my afternoon went.)
I see at lot of girls commenting things as "one day I'll go to Japan, it's my biggest dream", and I feel really blessed since I know I'm going there this summer! It's outside the sakura season though, but I guess you can't have everything at once ^^

A new website for Japan lovers all over the world will be opened tomorrow (today for those in a timezone further east); Japan Lover! It seems so promising, and I found the most touching video the crew made for promoting Japan o.o

I guess this proves that I'm a Japan Lover, as it actually made me fell a tear... Can't wait to go!

Tokyo Girls Collection Spring/Summer 2013

Hi pretty ones!

On March 2 Japan's largest fashion event Tokyo Girls Collection went off at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo.
It's the 16th time it's being held, and it's the number one event for fashionable girls, both inside and outside Japan.
What makes Tokyo Girls Collection so special is that the fashion presented are the fashion that's in now, not stuff that's going to be popular in the next season etc. It's something for every taste, and it's a great way to get inspired! ^^ TGC is also an important arena for Japanese bands and artists, and every year there are surprise performances.
Here is a short summary list of the key elements:

• Vertical black and white stripes
• Floral pattern
• Bright colors
• High-waisted shorts
• Platform heels
• Skinny trousers

There were endless outfits, but I picked my favorites that either got me inspired or made me want to wear it right away! ^.^
The summer feeling is strong on these!

These are just some of the outfits and brands that impressed me, and it made me miss warm weather even more! Gotta wait just a little longer...
As you might know I'm a huge kawaii fan, and that's one of the reasons the outfits I picked were cute and brightly colored. You get happy just by looking at them! ^^

How do you define fashion?

Hello dear readers! ^.^

Today I thought I'd make time for a bit longer post. This blog is growing steadily, and it's so much fun to be a part of it! Gulli and I have been talking about creating a Facebook page for the blog too, so you can follow us there as well. This, as well as a new header, will hopefully get into place during our winter vacation. (As mentioned earlier, I don't exactly have much to do.) 

I hope you'll support us in the future too :D

What I'm going to write about today is fashion. Not a particular style, tips and so on, but just fashion.

Have you ever asked yourself: what is fashion? 

Well, I have, and the answer turned out to be more complicated than I first thought. There is a lot to the term "fashion". Just imagine all those wealthy, high status women that buy out-of-this-world expensive designer items, and sit on first row at all the big fashion shows. They all claim to be true fashionistas, but are they really? What defines good fashion?

To me, it's not enough to buy some expensive clothing in a famous fashion store.

The fashion industry have become a billion-industry, and wherever there's a lot of money involved, there will always be people that are after just that. Just the money. 

It has become many meanings of the word "trend". You have the trends the public wear, and the trends you create yourself. In my eyes, a trend is something that occurs on the street, and not at the office of a big fashion brand. 

Don't misunderstand, there are a lot of amazing designers who really deserve their fame and money.

But I don't think that the trends that are presented in some fashion magazines and fashion shows should be followed strictly. It's wrong to claim that everyone can walk around with the same and still look trendy.

It's not just about body shape and appearance either, but what type of personality you are.   

Some are punks at heart, others are cute princesses or fierce businesswomen. 

To think that all would look good in long skirts and batik pattern is naive. People should use fashion that match themselves, not fashion that matches the public's expectations. 

I think that fashion is a perfect weapon to provoke and inspire others, and renew our thoughts and opinions. We need to be different, dress different, act different. 

Fashion should be a way to express oneself, and I can't help but notice that the fashion industry are moving further away from this principle. 

"This fall you should dress in leather and wine red." " Use the 80's inspired swimsuits on the beach this summer!" I don't think that's how fashion should work.

It can inspire, but why should all "fashionable" people ditch all the pastel colored items in their closet and start wearing olive green and bronze, just because some "representatives" of fashion told them to?

Even though you thrive much more in bright pastels? 

Dear fashion-loving and confident girls all over the globe: you have received a task!

Renew the term "trend", and go out there and show the world that fashion is art; living and unique, and it can't be defined by some rich designer or a big fashion magazine!

Oh, quite a long text there. I'll add some pictures form the fashion area Harajuku in Tokyo. While you look at the pictures, please bear in mind that they're all different, yet fashionable, and this type of art wouldn't be possible is everyone had to wear the same design.

Fashion trends: wigs!

Hi sweet readers! ^^

First of all you might notice some tiny changes in the blog design. We have a little koi pond beneath our header, as well as a little survey on the right side where you tell us what you want to read about! Oh, and if you click on the koi pond you can feed our cute fishies too :3
This is just me playing around with design options, so let me know if it got too distracting!

Today's post is about wigs. Wigs are greatly underestimated by most of us. You might think of the super synthetic, obviously fake wigs that we only put on during Halloween, but the times are changing!
Wigs are a great way to change your look for a day, without doing anything drastic.
I, for example, have a secret desire for bright red hair like Rihanna. But I can't make myself dye it like that, because of the damage it may cause my hair, and the fact that most of my wardrobe doesn't fit red hair at all. But if I buy a high quality red wig, however, I can wear red hair whenever I want to, with matching clothes.
In a time where you can change the color of your eyes in an instant, and show off your whole personality in one outfit, I think it's about time that wigs make their return to the fashion scene.
Luckily it's getting more and more accepted by the public, and the wigs are made in better quality.

Let's face it: To wear a wig on everyday basis sounds super weird and eccentric to many, but why? Is there any problem with it, except the fact that it's uncommon?

If you're into pop-inspired, bright colored fashion like I am, it's easy to see the advantage of changing hairstyle everyday without causing damage to the hair. If you've ever played with the thought of having bright turquoise hair, you can have it one day, without regretting it afterwards!

But it's not only because of color wigs are getting popular. You can change the style of your hair immediately, without using expensive hair extensions. They don't have to be made of human hair either, high quality synthetic wigs can look unbelievably realistic too! It's a rather cheap and easy way of getting longer, thicker or curlier hair.
The wig trend is growing steadily, and I can hopefully be a part of it too, once I get the opportunity to shop properly again ^^

This is made of synthetic fibers too, but it doesn't look fake, right?

Feel like wearing light pink hair for a day? Well, why don't you do it! 

 Hope you got to understand my opinion on wigs. Of course, there are many out there that looks as fake as that green witch wig you wore to Halloween in 2nd grade, but as the trend is increasing, so is the quality. Just make sure you buy them from a qualified shop, and try them on if possible.
Once you have a fitting, realistic wig, there's a sea of fashion opportunities!
