A Norwegian's life in May

Hello everyone!

Remember my post on how much I wanted light pink hair? Well, guess what, I still can't get it out of my mind. I've decided that I at least should wait until I'm completely sure on what to do. However, I can't keep myself from bringing up the matter to discussion all the time. I've discussed it with everyone from my hairdresser to my dog. When I get an idea I just can't forget about it...how annoying.
Also, my hairdresser is huge fan of long, healthy au nautral hair. She's not too keen on the idea of bleaching it. In fact, she thinks it could be considered a crime to bleach hair like mine.
She's got a bunch of good arguments like how damaged it gets, that I probably will have to chop it all of and so on. (Don't you just hate it when you have an awesome illusion and some super logical, reasonable person comes along and ruin everything?)
We'll see, we'll see. But I have to admit that it would be sad to chop off my hair. Now that I've almost reached my goal to the hips and all...

Another thing that's a little bit annoying: spring is coming soo slow!
I slept over to a friend last night, and we got shock when we woke up this morning. It was snowing! It was freaking snowing on the 1st of May!
I feel so sorry for all the little flowers and birds and sprouts that finally arrived thinking winter was gone and away. Do you think flowers can feel the pain of freezing to death? I don't know, but it's almost like I can hear their desperate cries when I walk past our flower bed.

What else is it to say about our lives at the moment? It's busy as always.
In fact, May is a crazy hectic month for all Norwegian students. Not only do we have all our exams and finishing tests, we also have our national day and lots of other days that's holy or important in some way. And the russ (such as Gulli) spend almost more time drunk than sober. Wow, she's going to be so broken by the end of the month.
Speaking of "russ", on Friday we'll have visitors from Russia! It's a Russian theater group that comes to visit our theater group. All this is arranged by some cultural committee I've never heard about before.
But hey, they'll treat us a meal at a restaurant, and in my head anyone that gives you free food are nice people. (It's plain luck I haven't been abducted yet.)

Despite everything that's going on I'm very happy at the moment! Spring may be slow, but it is coming, and I'm loving it. The streets in our little town will soon be crowded once again by dandelions and tourists that takes pictures of everything. The other day I saw a bunch of them standing on the docks and taking pictures of the water. I guess it's rude to laugh at foreigners, so I tried to keep a poker face. Didn't work...
A happy cloud to make up for the mad one ~
Talk to you later ~

Kick start spring :D

Good evening all sweet and tough ones out there! ^^

I know it's been a lack of blogging lately, sorry for that. We have both been quite busy as always, and I had to catch up on some schoolwork.
When I walked home from school today I realized how quickly time has passed. Suddenly it was birds and sprouts on the threes, even though it was cold and silent just two weeks ago. Spring may arrive late, but it arrives fast! I also realized that when April has passed we will be four months into this year. (Yeah yeah, I know that's pretty obvious.) Add another two months and half of 2013 will be gone! Doesn't it sound weird?
I mean, I'm still waiting for the year to get fully started!

Anyway, our theater practice starts 11 am tomorrow, and since I'm home alone I have to walk (around half an hour), make breakfast (around 45 mins; I need time to enjoy my tea), pack my stuff for the sleepover at Gulli's place tomorrow night (around half an hour, if I'm effective), and of course get ready and decide what outfit to wear in the unreliable spring weather (an hour ++).
Which all together means I have to get up too early. That's why I have to make a short and quick blog post!
(But as you may noticed I spent a lifetime writing WHY is had to be short, so my plan failed...)

I thought I'd share some of my music fav's with you. As nature is renewing itself, so is my iPod, and I've been trying out all types of music lately. (Which resulted in a broken headset, r.i.p)

2NE1 - I am The Best. Forever a classic.

PSY - Gentleman. Just in case some of you actually haven't seen it yet.

G-Dragon - Michi Go. Just when I thought no music video could get more random than Crayon, he comes up with this...
WARNING: This video will make you go: WTF?? Guaranteed.

Supercell - Feels so Good. I know it seems a bit sexual according to the title and illustration, but it's really just a cute, jazzy song about weekends. And it's in Japanese, for those who wondered.

That's it for now! Come back later and see what happens when Gulli and I spend 24 hours together without a break... o.o

Good night and sweet dreams ~

Sunny days and spring on the way! ^.^

Good morning all you lovely people! <3

It's been a little while now, but this time it was not my fault since my friend ran away with my computers charger...-.-
But I can see that Silje has kept the blog going, good job! \(^o^)/
A couple of days ago we went to Seahouse where we usually get together to drink coffee and chat up on things. And as we often do, we end up taking some pictures. ^^ For once we were able to take outfit photos too. So now you can enjoy watching us being totally models. We are also getting a little warmer weather here now! Finally, it has been sunny a few days and now it's raining, but I'm not complaining because the snow will finally disappear! ^w^

My super cute bun with a bow~ I've also started liking bows again ^^

Kawaii flower bow~

I LOVE my shoes! <3

Cutiepie~

Okay, it's time for "Silje doing stuff she can't do!" *Insert fancy show intro music* In this episode she tries to climb a rock.

Ok, this will be easy~
Trying really hard...

...Aaaaaalmost there

"This is impossible"

You win this time rock..-.-

After we almost totally crashed my memory card with hundreds of pictures..-.- we went to a concert where our friends played. It was a concert dedicated to different rock musicians like Sting and Phil Collins. And it was awesome! I love the song Sledgehammer after this concert.

Hope you enjoyed this post~ And if you have any ideas at all to things we could write about, please let me know! ^w^
Bye Bye~

Oh, and by the way; my friend Anja "borrowed" my computer to say hello to you guys. ^^

Hello! My name is Anja! I'm Gulli's coolest classmate, and I'm the most awesome person here! Follow me on Instagram, @lilleme! :D

Spring stress!

Hi everyone! :D

Now it's officially arrived. "What has arrived?" you ask. It's SPRING STRESS! (A term I came up with a minute ago.)
"What is spring stress? -_-" you ask.
It's something I experience every year when winter is coming to an end. You see, I prefer to live through winter like a bear: I eat a lot, get fat, sleep through the whole thing, and then I wake up to the first rays of sunlight with (suddenly) a million of things to take care of. I'm just as surprised every year, and my little brain just can't seem to cope with the sudden changes.
We've entered April and I finally realized:

My theater group is having premiere in just a month. (Where is my script? Where is it?!)
I soon have to sign up schools for this years Operation Dayswork. (It suddenly feels scary to call strangers)
We're going to that cosplay convention soon. (How do I get this stupid wig on??)
We're going to Tokyo soon. (Not that soon, but I'm pretty sure there was some papers to fill in...by March?)
My exams are coming up. (I swear to you, if I get drawn up in math, I might have to kill someone.)
It will soon be time to dress more lightly. (Bikini figure? Who? ME? No.)

All these tasks and more hit me at the same time, and caused something I would call seasonal hangover. (Yep, another self-made term.)
What's a seasonal hangover, you say? It's when you've been really slacking off a whole season, and suddenly times are changing and you're struggling to adapt. This could also happen after the summer holiday.
You're standing there like: "What? Now? I have to do something? How? When? Why? Can I go to bed and pretend everything's normal when I wake up? Is it okay for me to lay down and cry?"

Even though you're confused, the society is quite merciless and force to you get going. But don't worry, it's completely okay to pretend it's a dream (until you wake up and realize it's not), and it's accepted to give up and cry as long as you get up again.
Pretty much like a roller coaster, right? Well, that's mostly what life is ^^

What I've been doing the whole winter.

And you know what's funny? When I get stresses up, it's only mentally, and psychically I'm just as laid back as I've always been. So yeah, I do care, but I'm just really bad at showing it.

Am I the only one going through this?

Talk to you later ~

Gyaru spring fashion ^.^

Good morning lovely people~ ^.^

Like Silje said I was supposed to keep the blog going while she was away, but my life is getting a little chaotic right now.. But I'll try and keep up. I'm also starting to run out of things to write about, so if you have any ideas please let me know. ^^

Even though we're in the spring month now it's still fully winter outside, and I'm just dreaming about the spring time. So I've thought about making a post on the gyaru spring fashion I like. I know Silje already made a post on the Tokyo Girls Collection that was held earlier in March, but I wanted to make one as well. I'll try to not use the same pictures as her^^

This collection is my favorite out of all the fashion shows around the world! They have so much cute and wearable items and like Silje said, they show things that are in now, and not what they think is gonna be in. Fashion points to notice for the spring are; Flower patterns, Wedges, Pastel Colors, Denims, Skinny Pants, Vertical Black and White Stripes, High-Waisted Shorts & Denims. These are some examples of what I'll at least try to add into my spring wardrobe.

Here are some of my favorites from the different brands.

Lis Liza
Lots of flowers~

I love the back on this dress <3
Lip Service

Roen for Dazzy

Sorridere

Bonica Dot

These are some of the outfits that I really liked, and also I chose those that Silje had not already uploaded. (all of the photos are borrowed from Tokyo Fashion)
^^ This really makes me wish for spring~

Bye Bye~

Tokyo Girls Collection Spring/Summer 2013

Hi pretty ones!

On March 2 Japan's largest fashion event Tokyo Girls Collection went off at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo.
It's the 16th time it's being held, and it's the number one event for fashionable girls, both inside and outside Japan.
What makes Tokyo Girls Collection so special is that the fashion presented are the fashion that's in now, not stuff that's going to be popular in the next season etc. It's something for every taste, and it's a great way to get inspired! ^^ TGC is also an important arena for Japanese bands and artists, and every year there are surprise performances.
Here is a short summary list of the key elements:

  • Vertical black and white stripes
  • Floral pattern
  • Bright colors
  • High-waisted shorts
  • Platform heels
  • Skinny trousers
There were endless outfits, but I picked my favorites that either got me inspired or made me want to wear it right away! ^.^
The summer feeling is strong on these!

Actus Colors

Actus Colors are showing off their suitcases.

Avail

Bonica Dot

DE TER NL

Duras

Lands of Eden

Lip Service

Sorridere

Vivayou

These are just some of the outfits and brands that impressed me, and it made me miss warm weather even more! Gotta wait just a little longer...
As you might know I'm a huge kawaii fan, and that's one of the reasons the outfits I picked were cute and brightly colored. You get happy just by looking at them! ^^

Important: All photos are taken by Michael Steinebach, and borrowed from Tokyo Fashion. I was not present at the fashion show myself.

What do you think?
