Can math be cute?

Hi sweet people!

Yes, I am alive too. Despite all the little things that's been troubling me lately. God, the Devil, the angels, nature spirits, aliens or whoever is in charge out there must be having a lot of fun.
Since our last show Friday night and up til yesterday, I had a constant headache. Mom was convinced it was a reaction on finally having nothing to do. (That doesn't really makes sense, or...?)
Today I was actually feeling just fine, until I got to school and the Principal told us which exam we'll have.
What I got? Math. Which happens to be the the subject I'm worst at.

At first my reaction was this:

Then I was like:

And suddenly I was like:

After all, we'll be finished first. Our exam is on Tuesday, while the others have it many weeks ahead. In that way it won't take too much time, and I can focus on other things.
Not to mention that our teachers actually do a good job in teaching us in the preparation days. I'm sure it's gonna work out just fine! ^^

To cheer myself up even more I found these pictures presenting math in a cute way:
(To me, everything that's cute is okay)

Let's just hope that all this self manipulation gives me good grades too.

Good night <3

A Norwegian's life in May

Hello everyone!

Remember my post on how much I wanted light pink hair? Well, guess what, I still can't get it out of my mind. I've decided that I at least should wait until I'm completely sure on what to do. However, I can't keep myself from bringing up the matter to discussion all the time. I've discussed it with everyone from my hairdresser to my dog. When I get an idea I just can't forget about it...how annoying.
Also, my hairdresser is huge fan of long, healthy au nautral hair. She's not too keen on the idea of bleaching it. In fact, she thinks it could be considered a crime to bleach hair like mine.
She's got a bunch of good arguments like how damaged it gets, that I probably will have to chop it all of and so on. (Don't you just hate it when you have an awesome illusion and some super logical, reasonable person comes along and ruin everything?)
We'll see, we'll see. But I have to admit that it would be sad to chop off my hair. Now that I've almost reached my goal to the hips and all...

Another thing that's a little bit annoying: spring is coming soo slow!
I slept over to a friend last night, and we got shock when we woke up this morning. It was snowing! It was freaking snowing on the 1st of May!
I feel so sorry for all the little flowers and birds and sprouts that finally arrived thinking winter was gone and away. Do you think flowers can feel the pain of freezing to death? I don't know, but it's almost like I can hear their desperate cries when I walk past our flower bed.

What else is it to say about our lives at the moment? It's busy as always.
In fact, May is a crazy hectic month for all Norwegian students. Not only do we have all our exams and finishing tests, we also have our national day and lots of other days that's holy or important in some way. And the russ (such as Gulli) spend almost more time drunk than sober. Wow, she's going to be so broken by the end of the month.
Speaking of "russ", on Friday we'll have visitors from Russia! It's a Russian theater group that comes to visit our theater group. All this is arranged by some cultural committee I've never heard about before.
But hey, they'll treat us a meal at a restaurant, and in my head anyone that gives you free food are nice people. (It's plain luck I haven't been abducted yet.)

Despite everything that's going on I'm very happy at the moment! Spring may be slow, but it is coming, and I'm loving it. The streets in our little town will soon be crowded once again by dandelions and tourists that takes pictures of everything. The other day I saw a bunch of them standing on the docks and taking pictures of the water. I guess it's rude to laugh at foreigners, so I tried to keep a poker face. Didn't work...
A happy cloud to make up for the mad one ~
Talk to you later ~

Kick start spring :D

Good evening all sweet and tough ones out there! ^^

I know it's been a lack of blogging lately, sorry for that. We have both been quite busy as always, and I had to catch up on some schoolwork.
When I walked home from school today I realized how quickly time has passed. Suddenly it was birds and sprouts on the threes, even though it was cold and silent just two weeks ago. Spring may arrive late, but it arrives fast! I also realized that when April has passed we will be four months into this year. (Yeah yeah, I know that's pretty obvious.) Add another two months and half of 2013 will be gone! Doesn't it sound weird?
I mean, I'm still waiting for the year to get fully started!

Anyway, our theater practice starts 11 am tomorrow, and since I'm home alone I have to walk (around half an hour), make breakfast (around 45 mins; I need time to enjoy my tea), pack my stuff for the sleepover at Gulli's place tomorrow night (around half an hour, if I'm effective), and of course get ready and decide what outfit to wear in the unreliable spring weather (an hour ++).
Which all together means I have to get up too early. That's why I have to make a short and quick blog post!
(But as you may noticed I spent a lifetime writing WHY is had to be short, so my plan failed...)

I thought I'd share some of my music fav's with you. As nature is renewing itself, so is my iPod, and I've been trying out all types of music lately. (Which resulted in a broken headset, r.i.p)

2NE1 - I am The Best. Forever a classic.

PSY - Gentleman. Just in case some of you actually haven't seen it yet.

G-Dragon - Michi Go. Just when I thought no music video could get more random than Crayon, he comes up with this...
WARNING: This video will make you go: WTF?? Guaranteed.

Supercell - Feels so Good. I know it seems a bit sexual according to the title and illustration, but it's really just a cute, jazzy song about weekends. And it's in Japanese, for those who wondered.

That's it for now! Come back later and see what happens when Gulli and I spend 24 hours together without a break... o.o

Good night and sweet dreams ~

The Star Trek girl and the cockroach!

Hi sweethearts!

Today's been a quite regular day. At school I was trying my best to focus on math, and afterwards I went home, cooked myself noodles and walked the dog in a hurry before I went to theater practice.
It's been rather intense there, lately. Someone realized it's just a month until premiere, and as every single year, everything goes all-out crazy the last weeks.
Gulli and I are trying hard to get our characters right. Her main problem is to act in love, and mine is that I'm not craving enough attention. (I don't know if anyone has said that to me before o.o)

Our theater instructor, as you might picture him, is a very talented and eccentric man, and as we're getting closer to premiere his opinions really comes forth.

"Gulli! What are you? An actress in Star Trek? Cause' that's how you act! You teleport from one spot to another. When the maid says you'll come in from the front door, you can't come in from the side door! You've got brain cells, right? Use them!!"

"Silje, you need MORE ENERGY! You're opening the whole play. If you're gonna crawl in on the stage like a cockroach, the audience will find a trip to the grocery store to be more interesting! I don't care if you run and fall or rip your clothes, just get their attention! They don't want to look at a grey mouse, they want drama!"

So, that's basically what's filling our days at the time. I'm wearing my costume half of the day, so I don't really bother so much about clothing now. That's why I've been often seen wearing a hoodie lately, and that doesn't happen too often.
I try a little though, and I've rediscovered the greatness of accessories! They're easy to put on and off when I have to change styling.
These are my favorite at the moment:

Found these super cute ear pieces at Glitter yesterday ^^

Hair bow from Tiara by Tracy Dizon. I noticed that I should have put it a little bit further down, but oh well.

Bow ring from Glitter

Me today ^.^
I'll try to keep you updated! :D

Spring stress!

Hi everyone! :D

Now it's officially arrived. "What has arrived?" you ask. It's SPRING STRESS! (A term I came up with a minute ago.)
"What is spring stress? -_-" you ask.
It's something I experience every year when winter is coming to an end. You see, I prefer to live through winter like a bear: I eat a lot, get fat, sleep through the whole thing, and then I wake up to the first rays of sunlight with (suddenly) a million of things to take care of. I'm just as surprised every year, and my little brain just can't seem to cope with the sudden changes.
We've entered April and I finally realized:

My theater group is having premiere in just a month. (Where is my script? Where is it?!)
I soon have to sign up schools for this years Operation Dayswork. (It suddenly feels scary to call strangers)
We're going to that cosplay convention soon. (How do I get this stupid wig on??)
We're going to Tokyo soon. (Not that soon, but I'm pretty sure there was some papers to fill in...by March?)
My exams are coming up. (I swear to you, if I get drawn up in math, I might have to kill someone.)
It will soon be time to dress more lightly. (Bikini figure? Who? ME? No.)

All these tasks and more hit me at the same time, and caused something I would call seasonal hangover. (Yep, another self-made term.)
What's a seasonal hangover, you say? It's when you've been really slacking off a whole season, and suddenly times are changing and you're struggling to adapt. This could also happen after the summer holiday.
You're standing there like: "What? Now? I have to do something? How? When? Why? Can I go to bed and pretend everything's normal when I wake up? Is it okay for me to lay down and cry?"

Even though you're confused, the society is quite merciless and force to you get going. But don't worry, it's completely okay to pretend it's a dream (until you wake up and realize it's not), and it's accepted to give up and cry as long as you get up again.
Pretty much like a roller coaster, right? Well, that's mostly what life is ^^

What I've been doing the whole winter.

And you know what's funny? When I get stresses up, it's only mentally, and psychically I'm just as laid back as I've always been. So yeah, I do care, but I'm just really bad at showing it.

Am I the only one going through this?

Talk to you later ~

Happy Valentine!

Good evening/afternoon everyone! ^^

How are you all doing? Sorry for not blogging yesterday, I went over to a friend to watch a movie yesterday, and it got pretty late. I can't afford to loose too much sleep either, I need it. Some people need their beauty sleep, and I need my mood sleep. I can get really negative and depressing when I'm tired.
"Silje, do you want to go shopping today? ^^" "Noo, I just wanna lay here and sleep forever. I don't want to go out. Everyone thinks I'm ugly, I have so much school work. I need a vacation...blah, blah, blah." etc.

Today have been a very happy day, however, and I've been energetic all day. Wish I could be smart enough to use that energy to do school work instead of talking, but, oh well.
Today also happens to be Valentines day, but it's not big deal for me since I don't have a boyfriend anyway. Valentines day ain't celebrated much in Norway, and I'm kind of happy about that. Some places blow up Valentines day like it's Christmas Eve, and it must be terrible for all people with a broken heart that feels ignored or unloved >.<

Forever a single... too busy to mingle.

I don't mind being single, as it gives me more time to focus on other things. Of course I miss a boyfriend sometimes, but I've realized that the time just isn't right.
I'm more than happy if I can just keep up my grades, stay in touch with all of my friends, learn more Japanese, and keep this blog nicely up and running this spring.

I'd also like to welcome our new readers from Taiwan and Malaysia, haven't seen your countries on the list before! Great to have you with us! \^.^/

I have a Valentines date with my readers <3
Hope to see you all around!

Much love ~
