We have arrived! :D

Hello everyone!

We have arrived safely in Tokyo, and are now staying with our host family. The weather here is intense hot, hot and more hot, but it's survivable so far. The flight here was looong, and we both had a bit of a cold... But mine is gone now.

Actually today it was the coldest day so far, with 26 degrees and rain. The rain was warm, but it was so uncomfortable to walk around in stores when we were wet, plus sitting on the train for 2 hours is not to recomend when you have been attacked by rain..
But anyway the trip has been aweaome so far!
After 2 days here I have already figured out the train system, and can get pretty much anywhere now. We have gone to Shinjuku station, which is the worlds largest and bussiest station, just so you know, and it is quite easy to find your way home as long as you know the stations names. So I am quite proud!

Today we had our first language class, and I've ended up in the second lowest class, basicly because I don't know any hiragaba, or katakana and deffinetly not any kanji... But I'm fine in the class I am. ^^
Silje ended up in the class over me, because she knows more signs than I do. Her class is kinda difficult, but I'm sure she'll be fine! So now I must work hard, so she doesn't get too far ahead of me.

After classes we went to..... SHIBUYA!!
That was so awesome!! Actually we split up because some of the students wanted to go to Meiji shrine, and the rest of us wanted to go to Shibuya so we got to choose. ^^ Silje and a friend of us went to Meiji shrine, while me and some friends went to the most awesome place to shop; Shibuya.
I loved it there. Have aleady bought a dress, 2 tops, a kawaii yukata, and other stuff. I am soooo going back! Many times! ^.^ since we only got to cover about 3 of the 8 floors..

After Shinuya, we went for a little trip to Akihabara. At that point it was raining heavily, but we did go to a gaming arcade. Sadly I didn't win anything.. But it was still fun.^.^

This is one of the few pictures I have on my phone. Most of them are in my camera..

We stayed there until like between 6:30 and 7:00, so I got home about an hour or something ago. It would have gone fatser, but I was showing the Italian students their way home. I had to take a local train instead of the express I usualy take, but it was fine. I made it home, and I got to visit all the 25 different stations on the local line again. I also have to switch to another line, and then take the monorail the rest of the way. At the end I only had like a few minutes of walking.

Later, when I get an adapter that will accept my computers cord, I'll be able to give you more pictures.~ So until then I'll have to use my phone..-.- gomenasai.

Now I need to get some sleep because tomorrow we're going to the Tokyo sky tree. ^^
Bye bye~

5 tips for making the summer even better!

Good evening cuties!

Wow, it's so hot here now. In fact, Northern Norway just got a new record on amount of sunshine in May. And our town got a new heat record for May month! I can't believe it went so fast.
I mean, where did spring go? It feels like we jumped straight from winter to summer. I've barley had time to adapt to the changes. Summer is great though! I've been wearing some summer dresses lately, and it feels so light and feminine. (That is two words you really miss when you walk around dressed like an Eskimo in a blizzard.)
Every season has both good and bad sides, so in this post I'm going to write a little about how to best enjoy the summer!

  1. Stay safe and protected!
You thought I was going to write about molesters and rapists, didn't you? Nope. Your enemy is the sun! Of course, sunlight is good as well, but that's what makes it all so dangerous. The worst enemy you can have is an unstable one. The sun might hate you then love you then hate you again. Your job is to ensure that you can handle it. First of all, you must must must use sun lotion! It doesn't matter if you live far north, south, east or west, the sun rays are still harmful. And just because you don't get burnt, it doesn't mean that your skin doesn't get damaged. Did you know that getting tanned is a sign of damage? The skin is building up its protection after it's been hurt. The results of bad sun protection might not show up right away, but in the future. Too much sun lowers the quality of your skin, and gives you early wrinkles and uneven skin tone. You may also develop sun rash, even though it often appears a year after the damage's been made.
Just to clear up; I don't want you to avoid the sun either! Sun light gives you a lot of important D-vitamin, and it makes you happy. Just enjoy the sun, but protect yourself at the same time.
It's not that important to get a deep tan either, though many of you might think so. Learn to appreciate your own, nautral skin color, and you'll have a much better summer already. And it will save you from sun burn disasters.

My long time favorite sun lotion from Hawaiian Tropic. It gives good moisture and protection, and smells addictively  good.

After sun is important too!
      2.  Feel confident in your own body!

Yeah, yeah, we've heard about it before. "Summer work out!" "How to get the bikini body!"
Of course working out and staying healthy is important, but when it comes down to it you can't completely transform your body figure. It's something we are born with. You can't starve away your hip bones, or stretch your legs longer. If you are healthy, it will shine through anyway. We have to understand that there is no such thing as ideal body, because everyone is born with an unique one!
Find the good points in your look, and highlight them. A tiny, almost non-existent swimsuit might be sexy, but self confidence is sexier! Don't be trapped in your own body just because someone else told you that you're not good enough. Wear whatever you want, your friends don't care. And if they actually do, you throw them in the trash can together with that crazy diet magazine article.
     3.  Live it!

There are two types of to-do lists; things that you have to do, and things that you want to do.
Summer is the perfect time to focus on the last one. Write a list of things you want to do, see and experience during two effective months, and make sure to get as much as possible done!
May it be BBQ-party, road trip, boat trip, summer boot camp, working as a street musician or whatever project you got hidden in your brain; sign up those involved and start planning!

Random picture of me taken in Thailand, because Thailand was amazing.
     4. Create your summer playlist

I always create a playlist on my iPod for each summer like "Summer 2012" and so on. The music varies for each year depending on what I'm doing, so every list has a different "theme". Music is a great way of remembering stuff, so you can always sit down later and dream yourself away to ice cream and blue water.

     5.  Meet the summer in style

Okay, so this might come natural for many of you, but refreshing your wardrobe and make-up palette really helps putting you in summer mood. I don't think you should spend a lot of money, or throw away all your old clothes, just refresh. Summer is the perfect time to experiment with bold colors and accessories, especially if you're not used to it. We tend to get more daring and playful then usual, so use the opportunity!

I hope all of you will have an amazing summer! Of course, it's hard to beat Gulli and I who's going to Tokyo, but...
Talk to you later! ~

I am alive! o0

Morning~

Yes, I am actually alive, or at least almost. I had a big cold attack as well as an asthma attack so I've been quite knocked out... The only thing I've been doing the past days are sleep, eat and drink LOADS of tea. Total focus on getting well enough for the premiere. And it went much better than I'd hoped for! I think I got out on the right moments and didn't mess that much up. ^^

Yesterday was our last performance and we did very well, only made some small mistakes that was not very noticeable. I have some photos from behind the scenes and I will share some of them with you all! It feels so good to be finished now, but also kinda sad. Like Silje I'm wondering what I'll spend my time doing now...
I guess I'll get more time to read up on my Japanese and prepare for our Japan trip.

Home sweet home~

Hello there boys and girls! ^.^

I have been very absent from the blog these past day, because I have been preparing for and then traveled to  BodĂž for a junior achievement conference and contest. Our achievement is called Sugar and Spice, and our product is pickled carrots. I have mentioned it before, and can you guess what we got!? We won two first places ! and we're going to NM in Oslo. We won the gastronomy price and the best occupation factory price. It was really awesome, and we didn't expect the last one at all. I was actually planning to blog from our hotel, but since I were supposed to stand at our stand I didn't have the time or energy to blog. Didn't even take out my computer when I was there. >o< So that is my reason for not blogging. :p

I'm gonna tell you about our trip, and show you some of the few pictures I took.
We flew up to BodĂž and had to wait for ever for our rooms to get ready.. They had some problems with delivery and communication errors, so it took like 3-4 hours for them to get our rooms ready. This caused us to get little time to prepare for the dinner with all of the contestants. Luckily we finished in time. It was a lot of teenagers there, and I even managed to bump into a friend there. It's a small world. The dinner was really funny because the host was Stian Blipp, the host at the show Idol in Norway. He's really funny, and an awesome beat-boxer. The really sad thing about the night was that when they said the names of the schools that were participating, they forgot us... And even later when they mentioned some other schools they had forgotten, they didn't mention us. We just sat there and were completely forgotten...

Me and Anja ready for dinner~

This is the only picture I have where you can see my whole outfit...Forgot to get someone to take a picture.

Dinner: Turkey with a mushroom kinda sauce, and some really good potatoes.

Dessert: Panna cotta with berries on top. It was good, even though it had parted a little.

After we finished the dinner and the first price ceremony, where we didn't win a single thing (was like we didn't exist there >.<) we went back to our hotels and I had to prepare a little for the next day together with the other two that was also gonna be at the stand. Then I could finally go to bed and sleep, but not too much because some really annoying construction workers that had an excavator and it sounded like they were just dragging the head across the street over and over... This went on from like 4 in the morning until around 7 when I had to stand up... After breakfast I had some time to get ready and then head over to where the stands were.

Our pretty stand! Carrots, carrots everywhere~

The stands were in a little shopping mall right next to our hotel and it was freezing cold there! We had matching orange t-shirts, but I didn't take of my jacket until around the time when the judges were walking around. Our stand was actually very popular. People thought it tasted really good and we sold almost everything we had brought with us. A lot of people thought we had fish because the product can look a little like salmon, but they got positively surprised when they found out it was carrots. Some people even bought it without tasting because they had heard it was really good. After standing at our stand for like 4 hours it was time for the award ceremony for that day. And we won the two categories! ^w^ And found out were going to NM to compete in the gastronomy part.

Our whole class after we won the gastronomy price! ~ (borrowed the picture from ungt entrepenĂžrskaps facebook page)
Anja with on of our prices~ ^^

Audun with the other one~ ^^

During our last day we found out that they were on strike action at the airport here home, so we had to take buss and boat from SandnessjĂžen. And our flight was like around an hour delayed. Didn't get home until around 11 I think. And then we were totally beat. It was so good to sleep in my own bed tonight, and a total nightmare having to stand up and go to school... -.-

Me so not wanting to go to school ><

Now I'm off to the city~ Had enough time to do my makeup when I got home from school :p

Now I'm about to get ready to go to the town to get some ingredients for dinner and maybe I'll make me a cake~ Let me know what you think of this type of post and if there is anything you want us to write about, don't be shy to comment. ^.^

I feel pretty, oh so pretty

Hi cuties! It's been a few days ^^

Right now I'm about to jump in the shower after a big dinner. I was only cooking for myself, so the portion became a little too big. I'm happy though, as it's my first time making chicken with curry paste and coconut milk, and it went pretty well! My mother and stepfather doesn't like spicy food as much as I do, but now that I was alone I could chop up as much chili as I wanted.

This weekend I spent mostly at an informal seminar at my friend Tonje's house. (Or rather, we slept in the garage). We are both a part of the same organization; Operation Dayswork, and this was a little gathering for old members and new members to learn from each other and have fun.
There are different committees for each part of Norway, that's responsible for arranging the operation in their region, and it's important for the new members to learn how to do the different tasks.
We weren't so stiff on it though, most of the time we chatted, braided each others hair and ate tacos. This is a small place and most of us knew each other on forehand. I would picture these seminars to be a lot different in the cities where you've never heard of the new members before. Maybe the city-committees talk more about Operation Dayswork and less about Vampire Diary's and hair styles?

Tomorrow I have to travel to another town to check my braces. I'm so tired of it now, and it's even more annoying when you have to take bus and ferry for three-four hours once a month to check it. Why?
Because there are no dentists in this town that are qualified to work with braces .__.
The good side is that I'll be taking it off quite soon, and it will be such a relief! No just because of the travelling, but also because I can finally smile properly on pictures. You may have noticed that I never show my teeth on pictures. It's not because I'm in a bad mood, in real life I walk around smiling like an idiot all the time. I just don't feel pretty at all with my braces on, and I'll be so happy when I can smile with my teeth instead of metal >.<  No one wants to look like Jaws in the James Bond-movies, right?

All the stuff I ordered will arrive soon, so I walk around constantly with a little excitement. Of course money can't buy happiness, but if you invest it well it can give you a great mood-booster.
Next weekend I'm going to Oslo (Norway's capital for those of you who didn't know) with the rest of the OD-committee on the national spring-seminar, and it will be so much fun!
Operation Dayswork is super social, and there are so many people from other parts of the country you look forward to meet when you're going to national gatherings! ^^

As you might understand a lot of good thing are about to happen, and I walk around with a silly smile, singing all day. Earlier I compared myself to grumpy cat, now I'm more like this little hedgehog:

And talking about the header, if anyone out there are good at editing pictures, web design and such, feel free to help us! We're not that good you see, in fact, I'd say we suck to a certain degree.
So, all pros out there, we need ya :3

That was all for this time, pictures from our little gathering will be up shortly! ^.^

Have a nice week, everyone ~

Weekend! ^.^

Hi guys!

Today it's officially weekend! I am so looking forward to sleep for a looong time tomorrow, because I need to get back some of the sleep I've lost because of my sore muscles. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep good tonight, so I can get enough energy for tomorrow when I'm gonna be working at a party serving food, cleaning up and stuff like that. Anyway can you guess what I've done all day at school, except eat lunch?..... Cutting thin carrot strips into smaller strips! I think I've mentioned the product we're making at school, right? Yeah, I am so going to get sick of carrots by the end of this.

I received a mail today from the company we're going to Tokyo with and it was an information file about Tokyo. So now I'm SUPER excited about going to Japan!! ^.^ I was jumping up and down and reading it out loud to my mom once I got it. There is so much to look forward to. Going to Shibuya and Harajuku, trying and getting a Kimono, visiting an animation studio, visiting a shrine and much more!

How I'm feeling! >w<
This is where I belong! Watching the bacon~ <3
This was a rather short post, but I hope you forgive me, nee?

Happy winter day! ^.^

Hi sweeties!

Today is such a lovely day! We're finally getting into that part of winter that I really like. We still have snow, but we have the sun too. The days are getting brighter, and I was so surprised last morning when I woke up with sunshine in my face. (What bright light is this?)
The temperatures have gone a little up, so now I can walk my dog without freezing inside my big, black parkas. And since I'm not freezing I can walk a little slower and take a look at what's around me too ^^
The only down in the ice on the roads... It's a miracle I haven't fallen yet.

This is me today. I'm wearing my beloved light pink knitted sweater ^^ It has been a close friend throughout the winter. So far this has been a rather laid back day, but I'm meeting Gulli and some others in town later and apparently we had a bunch of stuff to do.

Now that we have entered the better winter time, I was delighted to see that the online fashion store Milanoo is having a little give-away. It is a super cute winter coat, and it's perfect for this time of year between winter and spring when I need a winter coat light.
They are still hosting the give-away on Facebook, the more people that joins, the more winners:
Cute winter coat give-away

It looks so soft and warm and cozy and cuddly :3

Something else that brightened my first days of winter vacation was the new NU'EST song "Hello".
It was released 13th of February, and I've been listening to it non-stop ever since.
There are many reasons to why I'm a huge fan of them, but one of the main reasons is that when I normally listen to a song, I love it in the beginning, but then I grow tired of it. When it comes to NU'EST songs, I love them the more I listen to them! I still listen to their debut song "Face" everyday, event though it was released a year ago!

This is one of their saddest song so far, but it's so gentle and sweet, and it's the perfect soundtrack for a walk in snow and sunshine.

Can't get enough of it >.<
Remember to watch in HD with English subtitles on, the lyrics are amazing!

A little update from me before I continue the day, hope you all are having a good time too ^^

See ya ~

A look into our life; Theater

Konnichiwa minna! (hello everyone!)

Today have been a long day. We were visited by some 9th graders who was gonna make food together with us, and for some reason the hours went by really slow. They were mainly going to make the food, while we were supposed to be their "teachers". I don't think I'm good at learning people stuff... Don't know how to tell or to give orders, I am not a bossy person. But anyway, we made some good food. ^^ Even won the best main course! :D Happy!

This is how the table was decorated. Kinda simple, but it works.

our starter; Onion soup. Delicious! :3

The maincourse; Greek meatballs with salad, roasted potatoes, tzatziki and an mango- and peanut dressing  We won the best main course! :D

Dessert; Cinnamon rolls with ice cream and raspberry coulis

And this is how it looked when we started washing the dishes... this must be the most we've ever had ;o Took a long time to finish.

I finally managed to get the photos over to my computer, after a long fight, so I hope you will like them. Being in the theater is really fun, and you get to develop and find yourself. I only got a couple photos because my camera died.... But anyway, here is a look into our life; theater.

A random picture of my and Siljes boots. Hers are uggs which she use mostly on the theater, and mine, the ones inderneath, are some leather boots that I love to wear. ^.^

These are just some sneak peaks into our play. It's really funny. I will try to bring my camera to practice often, and hopefully get something to blog about. :D

Pretty Silje ^.^

Our friend trapped Silje. He is wearing his awesome hat!

 Haha, cutiepie Silje! ^.^

This was s lot of pictures. I hope you liked them, and let me know if you want to read more posts like this one. Now I think I better head to bed soon....

Good night~
